Being the first doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the Best, but because it’s the first it has the largest market share of all the cryptocurrency out today. New cryptocurrencies are being invented to solve different issues or problems found in Bitcoin.
Therefore, as BitKidz we’ll continue to learn about all cryptocurrencies for their pros and cons.
Here are a few recent articles worth checking out about Litecoin:
In our disucussions with Bitcoiners for our book, we agree with BitAngels David Johnston, as it’s never a good thing for a monopoly, and competition is good; however Bitcoin is clearly leading the way.
Then, with Coindesk’s William McCanless, reminding us that Mt. Gox will be trading Litecoin soon. With it’s lower entry points (~$2USD compared to ~$100 USD for Bitcoin) it’s worth looking into and even mining now for investment purposes.
Uncle I.J. told us about Ripple and how they’re giving out ripples (XRP) during this Beta period, but we’re showing some security errors simply to join their network via email. So, we’re holding off right now. Also, it is a centralized system, which has its pros and cons. And it says it’s “open network” but we’re told it’s not “open source”. Due to time limitations, we’re not investing much time in researching ripples right now–we’re working hard on making Bitcoin kid-friendly for our book.
We are interested in learning more about Litecoin, but we’ve been tipped into Ripple, Feathercoin and Freicoin too. What are your thoughts and preferences for other cryptocurrencies.
